Prof. Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at the University of California Davis. She is well-known as the pioneer of modern-day scientific research of eyewitness accounts from children's memories and the use of child victimization in court. Professor Goodman who is a prolific author with numerous papers and grants she is also the winner of numerous international and national awards. She has worked with various government agencies and governments across the world on policies and studies on children as victims within the legal system. She acts as an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She's a member of numerous professional associations that include Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is a member of Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding Member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been president of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development as well as Practice Division of the American Psychology-Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
